Opplysninger
This case study aims to determine whether an additional educational component given online to pharmacy students could increase their knowledge and skill level to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. This case illustrates the use of a multiple-methods online COVID -19 vaccine training. The education, as well as the research methods used, was conducted online due to Covid restrictions. Student skills before and after the training were measured in three ways. The first was a pretest and posttest questionnaire given to students before and after educational training. The second was students rated a preintervention and postintervention about COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy and literacy interactions between a patient and a pharmacist using motivational interviewing. The third was an in-class online role-play of a one-on-one simulation between a pharmacist and a patient who was COVID-19 vaccine-hesitant.Reflections on this project indicate that the multiple-methods training, done entirely online, was effective. The different methods used gave the researchers diverse ways to measure the impact of the training. In addition, the combination of methods gave researchers a more nuanced indication of the training impact despite having to conduct the training in real-time with new and changing information.
