| Opplysninger | Increasing interest in insight and anosognosia in neuropsychiatricillness has been accompanied by growing academic study of suchawareness phenomena in Alzheimer's disease. This article reviews thecurrent status of knowledge of this topic and makes the case thatinsight and anosognosia are concepts with direct clinical relevanceto Alzheimer's disease. The associated symptomatology, andimplications for patient management, are emphasized. Such relevanceshould form the basis for future research.
