Opplysninger | Alzheimer`s disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, leading to progressive cognitive impairment and loss of functional abilities for the afflicted patient, a heavy burden on caregivers and high costs for society. New treatment strategies are being introduced setting focus on the need to make informed decicions on the allocation of resources to and within dementia care. This thesis develops a method for economic evaluation of treatments for AD and estimates the cost-effectiveness of existing and hypothetical interventions aimed at alleviating symptoms and slowing the progression of AD.
