After filming Andrew Whiting earlier in the year we were keen to get Elaine to see what they were doing and the results they were getting. After Elaine spent a day on 4 farms she gave this presentation which touched on soil biology and the benefits of using compost. This is part of a DVD course series covering the topic of soil and compost. If you want to get more serious into this topic; Elaine presents a 2 week certification course, which includes using the microscope. It's exciting times when farmers start to focus on the soil life and are able to measure what they are doing using a microscope. When you start putting the soil life first, the results are often nothing short of miraculous. Can farming really be as simple as this?
