| Opplysninger | Abstract: -Pain, and especially chronic pain, is a majorclinical problem in the elderly. There are contradictory data on several fundamental problems in aging and pain. Although there is some indication that pain sensitivity decreases with aging, this phenomenon has been questioned and deserves further attention. The authors discuss these problems together with principles of assessment.A multidimensional instrument of pain assessment (MPQ) is addressed with a special focus on a Norwegion version and its potential utility in relation to pain assessment in the elderly.
