ABSTRACT: Five caregivers' descriptons of activities in relation to their relative with a dementia disease were obtained through interviews during a caregiver program addressing everyday activity problems in dementia. These descriptions were analyzed using a comparative qualitative analysis. The findings show that although the caregivers presented quite similar activity problems, they explained the meaning of tehse problems in very different terms.l These results suggest that caregiver programs addressing everyday activities in dementia may need to invoilve individualized education in order to promote colloborative and effective learning.
