The deep roots of corruption in Russian society collide with American idealism.. - Zona takes you into the world of the prisoners in an average Russian jail, and is based on stories told by real inmates. The story revolves around the mysterious murder of one of the guards, which the higher ranking jail officials present as a suicide. The other guards are making every effort to wrap the case quickly, but one of the few honest guards initiates an unofficial investigation in an attempt to uncover the truth. Based on true stories, the program contains drama based on real human relationships, abundant with love and hate, friendship and betrayal, malice and compassion.
