The second international workshop on human chromosome 14 mapping was held at St. Anne's College, Oxford, UK, September 1 to 3, 1994. There were 33 participants from ten countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States), as indicated in the participant list with this report. Further chromosome 14 information can be found in the report of the first workshop, in 1993 (Cox, 1994). Papers were presented on the first full day of the workshop and the data from the presentations were posted for the duration of the workshop. The titles of abstracts of work presented and of four abstracts submitted by individuals who were unable to attend (A. Choo, M. Hulten, J. Murray, and R. Tanzi) are found at the end of the report. The full abstracts are available from the Genome Data Base (GDB). Three data bases were demonstrated: GDB version 5.2 by Chris Porter, IGD (Integrated Genomic Database), a data base integrating with several other data bases in graphic form, by Otto Ritter, and the Comparative Database by Jo Dicks and Michelle Kirby. Working groups met on the second day to collate data and prepare reports.
