Dan ( Julian Ovenden ,( downtown abbey ) and Miranda ( Gemma Whelan, Game of Thrones ) are two city dwellers who have recently escaped with their kids to a new life in the countryside after inheriting her family home. Miranda's sister Lyla( Joeley Richardson, Nip/Tuck ), a fading Hollywood star and her alcoholic agent and husband Trent ( Michael Landes, Angels Has Fallen ), arrive from america with their children for christmas. Festive cheer soon turns to disappointment when they see the old family home resembles a building site. To make matters worse, Dan's son and ex-wife Miriam ( Sally Phillips, Bridget Jones's Diary) unexpectedly arrive, adding fuel to the fire.
