| Opplysninger | The book, the result of the collective’s encounters and reflections, brings together images, essays, and testimonies that document the experience and expand the project’s reach. More than a simple record, it asserts itself as a living platform for dialogue, inviting readers to revisit past and present through the transformative power of art. A transdisciplinary experience that takes as its starting point the powerful Steilneset Memorial, conceived by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, Franco-American sculptor Louise Bourgeois, and Norwegian historian Liv Helene Willumsen. This memorial space, located on the island of Vardøya in Norway, stands as a sensitive testimony to lives marked by intolerance and fear, honouring the 91 victims of the 17th-century witch trials. Five women artists gathered in the small town of Vardø for a residency: Andreia Garcia (theoretical architecture), Fernanda Fragateiro (visual arts), Haley Fohr (music), Jenny B. Osuldsen (landscape architecture), and Maggie Wright (art history). Each brings her unique perspective to the heart of Norway’s Arctic, enriching the collective creative process. Forlagets omtale
