| In county Hordaland, a sample survey among dairy farmers keeping more than 15 dairy cows,was accomplished autumn 2015 to examine the storage capacity and utilization of manure. Thesurvey revealed that 39% of the farmers have less than 8 months storage capacity. If storagerooms are rented, lack of capacity is estimated to 6400 m3to a cost of 5.3 MNOK. Only 11% has10 or more months storage capacity. If the government in the future demands 10 monthscapacity, 58% of the farmers want to invest to adjust to new regulations. The investment iscalculated to 32000 m3 and 27 MNOK. Moving manure spreading from autumn to growingseason will reduce runoff of nutrients, use of mineral fertilizer and green house gas emissions.Amount of organic dry matter from cattle manure is estimated and places for furtherinvestigation for establishment of biogas plants in Hordaland are suggested.
