These stereoscopic positives on glass were most likely taken during the last years of the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz and the early years of the Mexican Revolution, approximately between 1900 and 1915. The photographs from the casa de cita capture the nude in a direct and sympathetic manner. There appears to be a sense of intimacy between the photographer and subject, which is both rare and charming and quite different from others of that same period.
