They covered the entire field of contemporary medicine, throwing light on his philosophical thought and broad historical interest. In this volume the testimonies from various sources for his work Peri psyches are collected. They reveal Soranos to have been a prominent proponent of Hellenistic theories of the soul, which were based on materialism in general and the soul's physicality.
