| Agnès Varda writes and directs this French drama based on the life of her late husband, director Jacques Demy. The film chronicles Jacques (Philippe Maron/Edouard Joubeaud/Laurent Monnier)'s early life in Nantes with his family, his mother, a hairdresser, and his father, a mechanic. It is here that he first becomes fascinated with the arts and begins to make his own animated films before moving to Paris to pursue his dream of becoming a film-maker.
