Opplysninger
This dataset presents how a Lefebvrian rhythmanalysis can be done on interview data. In the interviews, screenshots from self-tracking applications and media diaries were used as a stimulus. The dataset includes screenshots from self-tracking applications and interview transcripts from Finnish active social media users interpreting their own data and discussing their relations to devices and their uses. It is provided by DSocSci Minna Vigren who collected the data as part of an Academy of Finland research project 'Digital Face' in 2017. The analysis focuses on the complex entanglement of digital devices and applications in the everyday life and the manifold feelings they evoke in users as expressed in their own words. Theoretically, the analysis uses the concept of 'softwarization' and brings it into dialogue with philosopher Henri Lefebvre's methodology of rhythmanalysis. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide and a Student Guide, most suitable for advanced students with previous experience in qualitative media analysis.
