Opplysninger
Experienced caregivers at nursing homes were interviewed by means of focused interviews after having watched videotapes of the feeding of three severely demented patients. Caregivers mainly described the meaning of caring this type of patients in terms which could be interpreted in accordance with an ontological ethical model. Thus the experience of meaning was seen as a consequence of the interdependence between patient and caregiver. descriptions that could be interpreted in accordance with a teleological ethical model were also given. In these cases, the meaning of care was derived from the consequences of the caring.
