This paper is a case study of art therapy with a man with Alzheimer'sDisease who attended a weekly group at a day care center. Althoughhis speech was difficult to understand, and he was unwilling toparticipate in group activities on his arrival, the patienteventually engaged in cooperative drawing. Responding to thetherapist's request, the patient would connect several dots thetherapist drew on a page, making complex creatures that symbolizedhis fears and anxieties. The patient also used this process at hometo reduce distress and aggression.
