| Opplysninger | ABSTRACT: A review of research findings published between 1993 and 2005 regarding the effectiveness of group intervetions for reducing burden in informal caregivers of persons with dementia. Sixteen studies were included inthereview and organised according to the design and type of evaluation carried out. Studies were summarised and briefly reviewed individually.Overall difefrent group interventions produced mixed results on the outcome of burden making it difficult to form any firm conclusions. A discussion around the overarching methodological considerations of tehstudies reviewed was provided to aid understanding of the result. recommendations are made to address the issues discussed and guide future research. there is some sugestion that groups using theosy to guide the content of intervention and outcome measures show potential for decreasing burden and are particular aereas requiring further investigation.
