| Opplysninger | The aim of the design audit tool is to provide consistent guidance on designing environments for people with dementia. It can be used for refurbishment projects or new buildings, and is relevant across a range of settings., including day centres, wards, care homes and medical centres. The audit tool should be used in conjunction with Best Practice in Design for People with Dementa, also published by the DSCD. Although the tool can be used informally during the design process, users are encouraged to undertake specific training in design for people with dementia first. Formal certification of a buliding following audit is available, providing the audit has been carried out by a DSDC-registered auditor.
